The gap in a standard diligence pack
A conventional diligence pack covers identity, employment, qualifications, filings and finances. None of that touches the material that most often causes reputational damage after a decision is made: what the person has said in public, at length, over years. That record is available to everybody — journalists, competitors, employees, customers — and it is usually the last thing anyone reads.
The obstacle is volume rather than access. An active subject can have tens of thousands of public posts and dozens of hours of recorded appearances. Reading that properly is a multi-day task, which is why in practice it is skipped or reduced to a few keyword searches. ArgusX (also written Argus X) makes it a routine step instead.
How a check runs
You provide a public X or Bluesky username, or the YouTube and Rumble video URLs you want reviewed. ArgusX retrieves the account's complete public history — original posts, replies and reposts — or transcribes each video in full, then classifies every item against nine reputational risk categories: racism, violent rhetoric, antisemitism, Islamophobia, transphobia, homophobia, sexism, hate speech and extremism.
Commercial diligence often has its own concerns, so you can add a custom query alongside the standard categories at no extra cost — a competitor, a regulator, a named counterparty, a disputed claim. A single scan covers up to 10,000 posts or twenty hours of video, and most complete within fifteen minutes.
Pre-hire screening that stays reviewable
For pre-hire social media checks, the output matters as much as the coverage. ArgusX returns an executive summary and then each flagged item with the category it tripped, a plain-English rationale, and a link to the original post or the exact timestamp in the video. Reposts are labelled and the original author attributed, so amplifying somebody else's words is not recorded as saying them.
Nothing is auto-decided. ArgusX is a screening tool: findings exist to be read by a human who can weigh context, discount a false positive — which can be reported — and decide what is material. The exportable PDF gives you a consistent artefact to attach to a decision record or share with a client, which is often what a fair and documented process requires.
Investment, partnership and counterparty review
The same check applies before backing a founder, appointing a board member, signing an ambassador or influencer, or entering a joint venture. Reputational risk in these cases is asymmetric: the upside of screening is a short report, and the downside of skipping it is a story tied permanently to your organisation's name. Because scans are priced per subject, screening a whole slate is predictable work rather than an open-ended engagement.
For platform specifics, see how ArgusX scans an X (Twitter) account's full post history and how YouTube video analysis handles spoken content. The method overall is described under AI social media vetting, and teams working in politics should read opposition research and candidate vetting.
Working as a team
Diligence is rarely one person's job. ArgusX subscriptions include seats and a shared monthly credit allowance, so a team works from a single workspace and every dossier stays together rather than sitting in individual inboxes. One scan of one account or one set of videos costs one credit, including any custom query.
Plans and pay-as-you-go credits are listed on the pricing page in GBP, USD and EUR, and no card is required to create an account, so you can review how a scan is configured before you commit.
